I am trying to share files with my desktop Win 7 ultimate and my HP laptop running Vista Home using a homegroup network. I have connected both via ethernet to my modem. On my desktop in the home networking window I can see the name of the laptop. When I click on it it asks for a user name and password. I have no idea what these are. The same thing happens with my laptop. I can see my desktop in the homegroup but when I click on it it again askes for a user name and password and I have no idea what these are? What do I need to do to get the network to work? Actually I would prefer it to connect without requiring any user name or password if this is at all possible?
Your advice would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Chris
