Win 7 Home Premium - cant run programs, antivirus .exe, system restore

HI - I'm using this laptop as a spare. it's my dad's for years. Now that he uses a tablet he lets me use this. It's a Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium. It's always given me a variety of problems - for instance I could never connect it with HDMI to my Panasonic Viera TV (while I could attack other laptops to watch movies with ease) and I get "letter salad" when I type - it inserts random letters from one word and puts them in the middle of another. It also jumps the cursor while i'm typing into the middle of another sentence. Extremely frustrating.

So it finally went bluescreen on me a few weeks ago - I was able to go in with safe moe and get everything off - but normal mode and safe mode with networking would always bluescreem. Suddenly a few days ago it turned on in normal mode again. I can use the internet again. but now my antivirus is gone

when I try to install any program - eg. Avira, Sony SOund forge. it asks me: "do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer?" I click yes, and then nothing happens. It doesn't show up as running in the file manager either.

So I tried to solve it googling various methods - but it seems like I'm blocked from doing do. It won't let me create another user account

When I try to right click on Computer in the startup menu to click Properties (for sytem restore) - nothing happens. so I can't even get in.

I did do that Regedit thing with exefiles modifying certain things to %1 %

oh and it wont seem to let me change things in CMD prompt.

Is this a virus? What can I do to at least get an anti virus installed - and get other apps running as well

Can you copy and paste?
Can you access the Boot menu?
Have you tried Malwarebytes Chameleon?

Welcome to the Forum.

I would say you may have a Virus / Malware.

If you have all data backed up, my suggestion is to do a Factory recover. It probably can be launched from BIOS.
It will format the C: partition and install an image from the the recovery partition. It will end as it came from Sony.

Download rkillhttps://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/ run it not what it kills then try running AV or installing one it kills any malware running thats stopping you running things you dont have to install it. If you reboot your must run it again
