Win 7 repair disk to restore MSI?

I think I must have lost Windows Installer using Revo uUninstaller and messed up the registry somehow. I'm a bit afraid to use the Win 7 repair disk 32 bit I created; I might mess things up further. I've tried to download a 32 bit installer update to no avail; it says it's not compatible with my version of Windows (Professional, SP1). Anyhow, does the Win 7 repair disk have a fix for the lost Win 7 installer? If so, I might give it a try if you can provide some guidance in doing so. I have everything backed up in Carbonite, Seagate external drive, Acronis True Image, memory sticks, etc. I greatly appreciate any help you all can provide in restoring the installer. ec

See if you can do a System Restore to a time before you used Revo.

Did you make a new Repair Disk after installing SP1?

Thanks for your fast reply. I made the repair disk quite some time ago before updating to SP1. Also, System Restore hasn't worked in months; I can no longer go back to a previous time. Some of this stuff that's going on is driving me crazy. I really don't think ithis calls for a clean install even though everything is backed up. I'm a fairly advanced user but am just afraid that my using the repair disk will create other problems.

Type cmd in the search and right click and select "run as administrator". Enter sfc /scannow and see if it finds any files to repair.

Try using the Repair Disk you created on your computer. If it does not work, you will need to make a new disk on a computer that has SP1 installed or find a download.
