Win 7 Sql2000 problem

I am not able to run sql2000 on my windows 7 desktop, but my frnd does! I am currently running sql server 2000 on vmware which is ****in' slow! i really need some help with running sql 2000 server on windows 7

Please dont give me links stating compatibility, 'coz I know a couple of ppl who run sql2000 on their win7 machines.

Now onto your problem ;)

First off, are you both running the exact same version of Windows 7?

What error messages are your receiving? Is it during installation, after installation?

Is there a reason why you will not upgrade to SQL Server 2005 Express?
