Win 7 Start up problems

Hey guys, I'm having an issue booting. I'm running Win 7 Ultimate x86.

It started after I installed ubuntu 10.10 netbook remix on the hard drive. Now when I try to boot windows 7 it goes through the loading procedure and then gives a quick bluescreen and crashes. I've tried a few things to repair the mbr/bcd but nothing is working.

When I type c: under command, it returns
The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

bcdedit returns:
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The system cannot find the file specified.

bootrec /scanos
Total identified Windows installations: 0


At this point I'm at a loss as to what to do. Normally I don't ask for help but I'm stuck, any help to resolving this would be appreciated greatly. Thank you.

GRUB can corrupt Win7 beyond repair when installed on the same HD.

Use Diskpart to make sure WIn7 partition is marked Active: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/71432-partition-mark-active.html

Boot the WIN7 DVD REpair console or Repair CD, accept any offered Repair, if it doesn't start then boot back in to System Recovery options to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots to try to repair the System boot files. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105541-startup-repair-run-3-separate-times.html

If this fails, Win7 is likely beyond repair so copy out your files using this method then wipe the HD of all GRUB code before reinstalling: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/93347-copy-paste-windows-recovery-console.html

So I tried the Startup Repair option of the win7 repair console and that worked. Lol. I didn't even try that to start with, I jumped straight into advanced solutions when the easy way did it for me. Thanks for the reply.
