Win 7x64 install error Setup was unable to create (rest below)

It has been so long since I have done this. I get to install windows, next disk is selected (says logical partition) Should just be empty-low level format was done it previously
Next and I get the infamous:

"Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locatean existing system partition"
Drive is SATA, win 7 is x64 full install (it's not the disk, I used it years ago to do this. I have no other drives installed except the dvd of course.

I remember something about drivers? Maybe not-But every solution I found talked about disconnecting all other drives etc, there are no other drives.

Thanks-it's a pc for my niece.

I am not sure why it is formatted like that, but guess I did it after I low lwvel formatted a few months ago. I tried diskpart and forgot most of it. But the link you posted is great. I was going to just take the drive out and reformat it - I hav afew different ext usb 3.0 devices ...but I have decided to follow the article-would be nice to remember how to do some of this stuff.
