Tried searching for this but couldn't find anything, maybe I didn't have the right terms but here goes:

I've had this problem for a week after Windows Live Mail was upgraded to 2011.

A large number of my sent mail doesn't seem to reach its recipients, I've had several people tell me they never got my mail. Tried e-mailing one person 4-5 times, he only got one message. This happens particularly with Gmail accounts, but again some work and some don't. the mail is not in a spam folder, I've had a few people check.

I have multiple e-mail account in use, from a couple of different service providers and different domains. the SMTP server is the same for all, which my ISP's server and is correct. I've used it for years and currently use it at work with no problems, but on this machine there seems to be some sort of a problem.

I there any way to pinpoint this problem? I've checked all settings etc. This is also a bit difficult to test as there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to this. the same recipient might get 1 or 2 out of 5 e-mails. one address I haven't been able to reach despite 4 e-mails, I called the recipient and was told nothing ever arrived in their inbox.

thanks for any help

Hi,

I suspect an issue with the SMTP of your ISP.......is it possible to check with them (the ISP), whether their mail server "received" the email you sent, and whether it was passed on to the person you were trying to email?

Turns out this might indeed be a problem with my ISP and their mail server. I asked them once, and they were unable to help and said there should be no problems, but now I called them again, and turns out they've had problems with their SMTP server after all.

Apparently this only applies to certain recipients (most notably Gmail accounts) and also only affects part of the mail sent, hence why some of my mail was still going through. This problem also began at the same time when I updated the e-mail client, hence why I thought it might be related.

so, seems like the problem is pinpointed and hopefully will be fixed soon.
