Have you tried to replace the other 4gb stick after removing it allowed you to complete Win7 install? This is the most common scenario. What occurs when you do this?
Try swapping the sticks to check for any difference.
What is performance like with either, both?

Have you made any other changes in the RAM besides swapping the blue slots to the black? Have you read your Manual about the difference in the use of these slots? Have you tried switching the sticks back to the blue slots?
