Win7 32-bit Clean Install: Compatible ASUS Eee PC 1000H Drivers?

Apparently, this issue has been mentioned here previously. See,

http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/149308-asus-eee-pc1000h-card-reader-driver.html

Generally, I am not concerned with my SD card reader as the OP of the above thread was yet, I am concerned regarding the need for appropriate drivers. So far, the Win7 install behaves well with the lone exception of an odd display of two rows of four tabs of Chrome when I attempted to return to my browsers home page yesterday following the install. Every use of Chrome since this lone bad example has been fine. The Intel 945 (?) chipset driver was upgraded after the install was completed.

I did not activate my Win7 during install so, I have 30 days to do so. My WEI is 2.2 in view of the Atom N270 but, the response of the OS is good because, I coupled the Win7 with a Samsung 840 PRO 256 Gb SSD.

I contacted ASUS regarding use and compatibility of the XP drivers that remain available for the 1000H but, this sounds like a lost cause.

Any advise?

Yes, I think I am finally through with the 2 rounds of Windows updates. I think 3 updates occurred as soon as the system was stable and 5 more occurred early this morning when I began working with the pc again.

Asus also responded and directed me to the Win7 drivers for the 1000HE so, I downloaded all of these when I returned home from work. With that said, I'm uncertain how many of these I will really need as those installed by the Win7 install may well be newer and improved. I will review the 1000HE drivers and add more content later.

I installed Win 7 Pro on my Atom powered Acer Aspire One netbook and ran it like that for about 4 years. It ran decent enough considering it was maxed out with 1.5G of RAM (I also replaced the 120G hdd with a 60H ssd). As I recall, I couldn't find a Win 7 driver for the card reader for it either. After a few weeks of running like that, a message appeared in the notification center that a driver had been found along with a clickable link. I clicked on the link and a driver was downloaded and installed. I eventually installed Win 8.1 on that netbook which ran great. I had it for about 6 years total then sold it on Craigslist a few months ago. It was still running good.

Built my first computer (8Mhz 8088cpu, 640K RAM, 20MB HDD, 2 360K floppy drives) in 1985 and have been building them for myself, relatives and friends ever since.
After a clean install their are normally over 100 updates. After installing them it's a good idea to check a couple more times and see if it picks up some strays.
After a couple reboots look in device manager and see if their are drivers that need attention.

So far all is well with the help of Greg Rocker in activating my copy of Win7 Ultimate described here:

http://www.sevenforums.com/installa...nstall-urgent-product-key-not-recognized.html

Many updates have occurred in the ~30 days since I restored the 1000H to service but, I have not yet installed the Win7 drivers I was referred to by Asus Technical Support staff. I now suspect I need to install these as the functionality they provide (...that which I remember) is not available.

The 1000H is solid and the 256 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD makes it perform better than my wife's i3 hp with 32-bit Win7 and a conventional HDD.
