Hi,

Win 7 Ultimate.

I have a zillion music foles on the PC but now when trying to copy them and their folders to a Toshiba 1TB USB, I get this message. Tried dragging, copying, cutting but stil the same message.

Did a Check disk on USB and all is okay.

PC 'from' folder is O:\studio
USB 'to' folder is G:\studio 800GB free

Message is...

Could not find item
This is no longer located in G:\studio
Verify item location and retry

Strange this is G:\ is where I am send files 'to', so of course it is not there. It is on O:\

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Copy and paste and try again, there is no reason it won`t work.

Open 2 windows, snap them to each side of your moitor, your PC on the left and the storage device on the right, then copy and paste the files.

That way you`ll see them on the storage drive.

Thanks for the help.

Tried that a few times but still no glee. Decided to plug it into another win 7 on the LAN and it is now pulling the files okay to the Toshiba USB.

I then got another smaller Toshiba 1TB USB and plugged it into the recalcitrant box and it didn't wotrk eith. Makes me ask the questions. How can I tell how much voltage I have free for USBs. Maybe I am running out of volts for another USB.

Both these USB's do not have their own power supply.

If it`s designed to run off usb power, I wouldn`t think that`s the problem.

What exactly happens when you try to copy the files, do you get a small coping files window ?
