Hi.

I have a Samsung rf511 SD7 and for some time it's being freezing after a few minutes idle. The hard drive light stay on all the time, the mouse moves, but it's not possible to do anything anymore.

I tried to update my Win7 to solve the issue and now it freezes 1 or 2 minutes after login, idle or not, with the HD light on too.

On SAFE MODE these problems NEVER happen, only on normal mode.

I tried to update and remove audio drivers, but didn't worked.

I use AVG anti-virus, didn't tried to remove it yet.

Please help, and any info needed I will gladly provide.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, done that, but even then Windows freezes :(

Probably a driver then? And it got worse after I updated the SO?

One strange thing that I noticed is that there's 8 Bluetooth devices under the unknown devices of Device Manager, and even so a bluetooth icon apears on tray. On msconfig there are 2 Intell Centrino Wireless Bluetooth. Bluetooth never seemed to work well on this note.

Edit* And these Bluetooth devices appear only on normal mode

Thanks for the reply.

If it were me i think i would delete all the dodgy entries in device manager (uninstall) and reboot
Windows should configure any drivers it needs and if it doesnt you can go to the manufacturers website and get them

Ordinarily you should not see any yellow caution symbols next to devices in device manager

I done that with the Audio drivers, will try that with others too.
Those bluetooth devices I mentioned had warning icons on half of them.

I guess maybe there are way too many startup items, you could disable some software startup, just click start button and type in msconfig, then choose startup, to be honest, you could disable all of them except security software, for me , I disabled all the software from running when system is booting.

I tried that on the posts above Sam, but thanks anyway.

Gave up trying Pauly... I will format windows and reinstall with my Samsung OEM to test with it.

By your experience, it's better to use the drivers in the samsung site or getting the most updated ones from the hardware vendors, since the samsung ones are usually older?

Thanks.

My samsung came with a clean windows 7 disk :)

Already installed and updated everything, it's working perfectly now.

I usually used daemon tools for mounting ISOs, do you recommend other tool or it's a good one?

Thanks for all the help Pauly.

Daemon tools is a PITA it uses a particular driver (sptd.sys) that blue screens a lot of computers, personally i would try powerISO or similar
