Win7 OS PC takes over three + minutes to shutdown.
It wasn't like that since Jan 2020.
I have look in Event Viewer and can't quite see what is the root cause.
Certainly will like to know opinions as to what to do next.

Thanks!

System is custom made.
OS=Windows 7 Ultimate
CPU= AMD Phenom II X4 965
MoBo= GigaByte
2 HDD, C= 300 Gig, D= one tera.

You need to edit your computer specs because it still shows a AMD Sempron processor.

If your computer is taking 3+ minutes to shut down, my first guess would be there is several running processes which are taking awhile to close before your computer can shut down.

If you run Autoruns, go to File and save the ARN file then zip the file and upload here, I'll have a look and see what may be the issue. Autoruns for Windows - Windows Sysinternals | Microsoft Docs

Another thing you can do is go to the events viewer and look in system. Scroll though for errors. You may find a service that is not shutting down properly. To get to the events viewer enter view event logs in search under the Start orb.

Something else. Go back and think what has been done on the computer prior to the shut down issue occurring. Updated anti-virus program, new installation of a program/s, driver/s, Windows updates, etc.

Fellows. It came to be the rewriting of the pagefile when shutting down the PC. A fellow from this forum also helped with the resolution. I'm pasting the comments that helped me to resolve this issue and the link for the info in tis board. Thanks you anyway to offer your thoughts though.
By Apster:***//What you want to do is go to the registry and change a couple values. Open the registry and locate the key{ \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management}, then change the value of ClearPageFile at Shutdown to a 0 IF the value is 1.//***Go here for more info : turning off computer | Page 2 | Windows 7 Forums

Thanks again for answering to my question.
