Win7 won't accept F6 RAID drivers at Install

I've got a perfectly functioning Intel DP55WG motherboard running with RAID on Win7. Just got an SSD hard drive to replace as boot drive, and trying to do a fresh Win7 install on it. I updated motherboard BIOS, and downloaded the latest RAID drivers from the Intel Website for this motherboard.

When Win7 Setup asks for the driver, I point to the folder, it finds it and lists what appears to be the proper option (desktop server express chipset ...) but then when I click 'Next' is says 'no new devices can be found, make sure driver files are correct...'.

So I can't continue. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

You should not need to use any external drivers when you install Windows 7, especially with an Intel board.
Just let the install continue without adding drivers.

Windows 7 has all the RAID drivers needed to do the initial install.

Of course, you've enabled AHCI in the BIOS.

Sata Drivers,yes.
Raid drivers,NO.

Best stay away from RAID, more problems than it is worth.

I'm sorry, but it does contain RAID drivers for Intel Controllers.
I have installed many Intel based systems with RAID controllers in RAID mode and the drivers are contained on the DVD.

Many users coming from XP mess up their installs by supplying drivers which are not needed. Win7 is driver-complete with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Only drivers which are missing after updates should be imported, unless performance problems point to a specific driver.

MS spent a fortune getting drivers into the installer or via Updates, even paying manufacturers to build them under WHQL so they wouldn't hold out to force us to buy newer hardware as happened with Vista.

Thanks guys. Turns out the problem was not with the RAID drivers, but a common (based on the many google results) but annoying driver conflict regarding the DVD drive. I had the DVD on a second SATA card and while it was somehow good enough to read launch the installer it couldn't continue - good old microsoft programming. Anyway, once I put the DVD on the motherboard SATA connection, it proceeded.

Incidentally, I did install the Intel supplied RAID driver at the next step of the install. Maybe I didn't need them but it says Win7 64 so I did. SSD now running and all's well. Appreciate the many replies.
