I have recently installed windows ultimate x64 on my computer.

i have an asus p6t deluxe v2 mobo, i7-960 cpu and a wd velociraptor hdd. The install went ok, I even managed to restart my computer a few times after but after windows updates installed it won't boot. I tried to boot into safe mode, restore from the installer, and repair, none worked. After startup repair it says: "a patch is preventing the system from starting" and I get a 0x1f error code.
(Preventing windows from downloading any updates didn't work either)
I tried to look the answer up in the forum, but found no real solution.

Hi there Welcome to SevenForums.com,

What do you mean by it wont boot? How far can you get into Windows? Login screen? Desktop then it crashes?

Sounds like your installation has become corrupted somehow.

Try repairing and checking using command prompt, here's how...

1. Insert the Windows 7 Disc and boot from it.
2. In the recovery menu, choose Command Prompt .
3. Type the following command and press Enter:

Chkdsk /r /f

Please also try the following commands and press Enter at the end of each line:

Ren C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml pending.old
Ren C:\windows\SoftwareDistribution SDOLD

Regedit.exe

When the register editor opens, please navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS:

* High light the COMPONENTS key. Please check if the following values exist in the right pane:

AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving
PendingXmlIdentifier

* If so, please right click on them and choose Delete them. Confirm the operation.
* Restart the computer."

In the register editor there is no HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE there is HARDWARE,SAM,SECURITY,SOFTWARE, and SYSTEM nothing else

i had same problem i have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on an amd a10 5800k black edition (mother board is ga-f2a75-d3h

16gb ddr3 ram also im using the built in graphics chip,,

Lg ips224 hd 1080p monitor (running via hd cable)

When i installed windows 7 (clean install as just built pc) it all installs fine.
But theres some yellow triangles against Smbus controller, then 2 USB controller also the pci device

So i updated the ethernet from the gigabyte site all ok
Then i tried to update the amd chipset driver from the site it installs but when it comes to reboot it it hangs on a black screen and wont get to the login screen. (it wont boot into safe mode any of the safe modes it wont repair the system. the only option each time is to reinstall windows.

So ive done that and still i have the 4 yellow triangles against the usb controllers etc.
what am i doing wrong ??
