Win7 won't boot with Adaptec 6405E raid after motherboard upgrade

Hi all,
I used to have win7 running on an Asus P8P67 pro motherboard, Intel corei7 2700 CPU together with an Adaptec 6405E raid card. Everything was fine till I upgrade my motherboard to an Asus Maximus VIII Hero motherboard (with Z170 chipset) together with an Intel corei7 6700K CPU.

When I do a clean install of WIn7 with this new motherboard and WITHOUT the Adaptec raid, everything was fine. When I insert the Adaptec raid card, windows won't boot.

I then repeat the installation with the Adaptec raid card inserted, Win7 won't boot again withe the same error that the windows boot manager indicated a status of 0xc0000225: "An unexpected error has occured" (see attached)

Can anyone throw me some hint on how to get it resolved?

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Not many people use Raid I believe mainly they can be a pain if you have drive issues
The gain of using raid is minimal and doesn't outweigh the pain in the neck they can be
Just get a larger ssd for the main drive and programs
Use a hdd or ssd for games and personal files.

agreed that raid can be pain in the ass, but it's a trade off for the kind of data security which I need.
