Win7 x64 - BSOD prior to & now after clean install.

Hi all, started getting BSOD a few weeks ago so decided to go for a clean install - Win 7 Ultimate x64 two days ago. The BSOD seems to occur within a few minutes of initial boot then affects rebooting capabilities.

I have run all windows updates to current. All 200+ of them!

On first (and only) BSOD since clean install, check disk ran and removed / cleaned some elements.

I have also noted that after check disk and restart. Google Chrome will not open.

Restarted and found that chrome would not load. Seems like the chkdsk fixes has directly affected it. Deleted chrome via control panel and have tried to re-install. Mozilla says download failed but leaves .exe in downloads folder. The chrome .exe will not run, warning related to x32 bit, got another BSOD before I had chance to note.

I tried a system restore and chrome taskbar icon back but still not working.

I might add at this point that whilst problem is listed as BSOD and I have had some (as above), many times I just see digital screen lines then immediate shutdown.

Been up and running again for the last 10mins without BSOD but am quite certain I've not seen the end of it.
