windows 10 stopping my updates

I downloaded windows 10 but did not like it. I uninstalled it.
Now I am getting messages that I need to update various features in Windows 7. I highlight those I wish to update but every time the original windows 10 download appears on the list.
I am told that the updates for windows 7 are vital and my computer is at risk but I cannot do these updates because Windows 10 appears as an optional update and I cannot delete it.

Hello 24rog ,

You can choose how to install updates in a feature " change settings" on the left-hand side of the windows update opening page.
Put that to " check for updates but let me choose....... ".

Now you can pick and choose and don't click on the little box of the once you don't want.
If you need to download a lot, my experience is do them in batches of 5. Seems to go easier.

I am not really an expert at this, so perhaps wait a bit to see if other members respond to your question
