I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 64 Bit with the following Specs:

  • Intel 17 930 2.8GHZ
  • ASUS V2 Deluxe Mother Board
  • Thermal Take 750 Watts PSU
  • Thermal Take Cooler
  • Thermal Take Chassis
  • 2GB x 4 DDR3 1333 MHZ RAM
  • Nvidia 9600 GT DDR2 {Existing}
the card use to crash during game play on my previous system when i had 32 Bit 7 with 2.4 dual core athlon and 3GB ram. i thougt may be the processor was not enough and even the mother board. after spending something it still gives me the same problem

it just crashes while in game play. my current specs are good i guess.. but still it gives me the same problem. can any one suggest a solution or should i upgrade to 2GB DDR3 or 2GB DDR5 Graphics Card

Not: the current 2GB Nvidia Card i am using does not have a power source from the PSU. its just through the PCI Slot

kindly advise. below is my graphic card info

Hello,

Are these "crashes" you speak of BSODs, or Appcrashes?

Check out this BSOD Sticky: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

hi jonathan

they are app crashes. before it only use to happen while i am playing splinter cell..but know it happens with fifa 2010 and cricket 2009 also.

secondly when the pc is idle some times the screen just changes colours from red to green to blue and then the whole thing just freezed,

i fell that the card i have is not compatible with new 258.6I update released by Nvidia, coz this takes the card to Direct X 11 + its DDR2

i have done all the updates to my pc but the problem persists. the shop from where i bought this card has agreed to replace it and give me a Geforce GTX 285 Black Edition - over clocked to 2GB standard 1GB DDR3

i am gonna get it today

Okay, keep us posted on that. Perhaps it may be an overheating issue as well.
