Windows 7 64 bit Reliability Monitor questions

I've noticed my reliability monitor is not always updating 100%. Some examples are when I apply new windows updates for patch Tuesday sometimes the monitor doesn't show that anything was installed that day even when I check after a week or two it still shows blank for that date. Just curious since it seems to be at random.

I attempted that fix and I'm still running across the same issue. Any other possible solutions?

pedalroad. Are the updates actually being installed. Have you checked in Windows Update to see if the updates are showing in Installed Updates.

Ranger4. I'm glad you mentioned that and yes I did check those prior to your message and they are installed from within windows update/view update history/see installed updates and cross checking the kb files.

After you ran the Reliability Monitor Reset, suggested by indianacarnie, did you restart your computer.

Is the Reliability Monitor showing any problems with your computer & is the reliability line running right up near the the 10.?

I did restart the computer and it does show on the 10 line for the most part. It's just very strange because it was working perfectly fine up until about a month ago. I've read that you need to completely restore the os which of course is very annoying. Does this pose any serious threat if it's not functioning correctly?

When it shows a drop down from the 10 line, what sort of warning are showing. If you are getting crashes or sudden blue screens of death, then there are major problems in your system.

But if you are coasting along without any problems then there is probably not much to worry about. I would say very few people ever check their Reliability Monitor.

I would assume it's more paranoia. I built the system from ground up and I haven't came across any blue screens. I did install a ssd for the os, maybe that could be causing the problem? I've read on some forums about turning the reliability monitor off for a ssd.

I am using a SSD on my system & I have the Reliability Monitor running & I have not had any problems with it. I occasionally check my Reliability Monitor & it does show all the updates installed & when & it keeps track of the odd problem such as Explorer crashed etc.

well I installed a couple of optional windows updates last night and updated my nvidia graphics and reliability showed the installed updates. I'm assuming it's working now? it's very strange.

One thing I'm noticing is within task scheduler/ractask the history shows disabled, I've checked a few other computers and those don't say disabled. How can I go about changing that? and what may have caused it to do that?

I can't tell you what might have caused it to get disabled, it might well be the default setting, as mine shows it Disabled.

When you have got to the RAC section as shown in the website, you should have 3 panes showing & the RH pane shows some items & one of them is Enable all Task History. Note that when it says Enable all Task Histories, it means they are currently disabled.

Just as a note Task History is Disabled on mine & the Reliability Monitor work perfectly.

Thanks! I did a little bit of research last night and noticed that yes it is set to disabled via default.
