Windows 7 Aero Themes Not Working.

Hi, My Dads Laptop has some issues with themes. I try to select the theme 'Windows 7' or 'Windows 7 Basic' and it will give me the windows classic theme in white. Why is this? The only theme that i can select is the classic theme.

What version of Windows 7 is on the laptop? Were themes working on it before, and have suddenly stopped working? A Guy

The version is windows 7 home premium and themes worked before and just stopped.

Suggest you run the System File Checker. It will disable any 3rd party themes, so you would have to repatch again after if you are using other them Microsofts themes.

Try this
Click on start button in the search box type Aero and look for Find and fix problems with transparency click on it and check for problems

Try this
Click on the Start Button type in Services In the search box and then click on Services



Scroll down until you see Desktop Windows Manager Sessions Manager select it in click on the Stop text and let it stop after that click on Start text and let it start see if the theme works. Your screen may blink when you do this.
