Hello, first post here (sorry if it gets double posted, browser crashed on first submit).

I have a C:\Users *directory junction* mapped to D:\Users. I used the following to achieve this: "mklink /J C:\Users D:\Users".

Question is: if I do a *system image*, will my files on D:\Users be backed up? Or should I config another separate *file backup* (not system image) job especially for D:\Users?

In case D:\Users gets backed up, when I restore it will my files be placed in C:\Users ou D:\Users?

Best Regards,
Penske.

I would think D Users would get backed up as NTFS inquires of C Users and it points to D Users. At this point, Windows Backup isn't controlling how things get parsed from the catalog and is simply handed back info from NTFS. However, if Backup doesn't have a "semaphore"? or handle on D during this process, what if D Users is changing while the backup is occurring and Backup isn't monitoring D for on-the-fly changes but rather just C as that's what you wanted to backup as far as it is concerned.

We've had some good questions this week and this is another one.
