Is there something wrong here or is this normal? I have used MS Windows 7 Backup for the past year and it general used 112 GB . Now it requires 150 GB and my external hard drive only has 70 GB left. My C: drive contains 15 GB of files. I am only backing up Libraries and have about 6100 photos and minimal music and video.

Welcome to the Seven Forums!

Are you Libraries actually on the C: drive? So the Libraries would be included in that 15 GB figure? Because if that is the case, Windows 7 backup shouldn't have been using anywhere near 112 GB to begin with.

I apologize. I found there is something wrong and I am not normal. The C: drive actually has 116 GB on it when I use a calculator instead of my pea brain. I am sorry to take up your time. I tried to delete this thread, but am unsuccessful thus far..

One tip though. If you use imaging (Macrium, Acronis, Paragon - not Windows7 imaging), you will get a compacted image that will only take about 50% of the original data size.
