Windows 7 BSOD on resume.

My new system will not stop BSODing on resume. The BSOD is away so fast that I cannot see the error string at the top of the screen.

I have replaced the motherboard, tried running with other memory, replaces the disc (one dump stated disc errors on the old motherboard). Also tried replacing the PSU.

The system is setup as a mediacenter.. Sleeps after 30 minutes. Tried with and without MCE standby tool - same thing. System acted the same right after installation of Windows 7 (and alle the automatic installed/updated drivers).

Seems like the Dumps are pointing to Core Windows files which may not be the porblem. One main thing i noticed in your dumps are you have a driver that is notorious for crash. Uninstall sptd.sys out of your System i.e. Daemon Lite Tools. Follow this article DuplexSecure - FAQ

I ran all 50 dumps.

It appears your hard drive may be the problem. Please download Data Lifeguard Tools for your Western Digital hard drive, and run an Extended scan: WD Support > Downloads > Select Product

Captain- for info, the 2010 version of ESET NOD32 (what the OP is running) is known to be completely stable.

jesniels- do remove Daemon Tools Lite, and run the SPTD removal tool as Captain suggested.

Darn it.. I replaced the HDD since I saw some storage errors early after assembly. Guess that did not work out so well :-)

I will remove Daemon tools - crying while doing so.. If that end up being a cause of this, I will go back to my old hardware (even though it is extremely slow) - but that did not have this problem - and ISO's are something that I use a lot :-)

I will get back as soon as I have tested these solutions!

I know MagicDisc did not use SPTD, so give it a try: Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview

It's free for your purposes.

Do run the SPTD removal tool after you install it, to make sure MagicDisc didn't install SPTD. I'm not sure, they may have updated the program to use SPTD.

When you replaced the hard drive did you change the cable or are you using the same cable ? Most people do so. If your one of them then repalce the cable as well. Not sure whether MagicISO uses the same duplex driver but i use this software Virtual CloneDrive - Download it's not using the same sptd.sys driver.

Okay, here's the scoop. I was wrong, Captain is correct: Virtual CloneDrive does NOT use SPTD.

Take your pick, you can install either MagicDisc or Virtual CloneDrive, depending on your preference.
