Hi people,, thanks for trying to help...I'm now in Safe mode because whenever I Start my Windows 7 build 7600 normally the start menu freezes and everything freezes after like 1 minute...except for the stiky notes, sidebar and yahoo widgets and if I run WMP and play something in the minute before my laptop freezes... so I have to force my laptop to shutdown and restart it...and the it freezes again...so it is like a loop...

I recently removed setpoint because in another treath they said Setpoint was having troubles with W7...so I stopped all the services except for a Nvidia service...and hoping it will solve my problem..I thought it was a driver problem... but all my drivers are up to date..since I scanned my drivers with Driver Genius and Driver Checker...

In the Event Viewer there are the following errors:
Error #1:

Source :ACPI
Event ID: 13
The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS. In some situations, this error may cause the computer to function incorrectly.

Error #2:
Source: Service Control Manager
Event ID: 7001
The Computer Browser service depends on the Server service which failed to start because of the following error:
The dependency service or group failed to start.

Is your laptop just freezing or do you get a BSOD?

There doesn't look to be much support for your HP yet although at the bottom of this page I found a reference to installing some quick launch buttons that may help. Scroll down to message 5 and 6 in the link below. Using compatablity mode with the older Vista drivers could work for you also.

I just figured out..when I restored my pc..The freezing after start up was gone...And I figured out that a Windows Update was causing my laptop to freeze..and the update is: KB973525

It is a security update and I don't know why it freezes my pc..but after uninstalling the updates one by one to see wich one was causing my laptop to freeze I see that the KB973525 update was freezing my laptop after start up.

Thanks to anyone for helping me out with my problem;) and a Happy New Year;)

GUys after doing all the above...I still got the freezing Windows 7...and I figured out that it is because of the Skype I have installed....Skype automatically signs in on my pc so thats why my pc freezes everytime my pc starts up...So i just removed skype from my start up programs... And my pc is working fine for a month now without any problems....Thanks to everyone who helped me with my problem ;)
