Yesterday the desktop went black after a while and then periodically there came pop up dialogues both large and small telling me to go to the microsoft site to resolve the problem. The machine is an Acer Predator which I've owned for some eighteen months. It was purchased from a reputable source and I have no reason to suspect that the OS is anything other than genuine.Product ID: Not Available
I've read some of the other similar threads and I've tried the following:
- CHKDISK c: /r - no errors reported
- sfc /scannow - no errors reported
- recreating the license store as described here: http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...nuine-looking-help-get-fixed.html#post2028336
