Windows 7 compatiblity with AoE 3

I cannot play AoE 3 on my win 7 laptop and yet i could play it on my old windows vista desktop, and when i checked the system requirements it met all the requirements and yet when i start it it doesnt work, like a start the disk, then i click on play game and after that it loads but the screen and stuff dont even pop up...
i would be very grateful if you could help me to fix this problem since i would like to play AoE 3 on my laptop >.<
oh and my system specs:
are a Sony E-Series VPCEA15FG with a 320gb hard drive, 4gb memory, with windows 7 home premium 64-bit and has a intel core i3-330M Processor 2.13ghz. i have directx 11
my graphic card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145 with a approx memory of about 2224mb.

Have you tried running it in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html? This is a strange problem though as AOE 3 runs on both my laptops and they are both running Windows 7.

Also Try updating your graphics card drivers, it might not do much but its worth a try. Some people on the net, say that turning UAC off might help but I have UAC turned on and AOE3 still works.

hi i just tried it and none of it worked. i checked my graphic card updates and it already is up to date. is there any other way that it might work???

Maybe downloading the latest patches will help.

yes i did sucessfully install the game on windows 7, and ive also reinstalled it as well after uninstalling it and it stil doesnt work but when i check task manager it has age3.exe*32
would the *32 mean it has to run on a 32 bit windows 7 cuz i hav a 64 bit and if it does need to run on 32 bit how do i change it??

Did a bit of research and found that AOE3 is a 32 bit game it should run fine under 64 bit.

When you launch AOE 3, can you give a detailed explanation of what happens?

well when i launch AOE 3 my windows explorer (sorry bout the spelling mistake if there is one) pops up with a message saying it isnt responding and when it restarts again nothing happens my screen just remains the same and nothing pops up at all
