windows 7 crash!!! :(! blue screen 6-10 a day

Greetings,


I am definatly not the smartest PC-user around but a friend of mine recently built a pc for me and i got it home and the first thing i got (after 30min of playing) was a Blue screen now i sent it back to him and he does not know what is it...
i shall link the files and necesary

windows 7 64x
Nvidea Grapic card
4gb ddr3

i don't know what else you need to know but please tell me!

You have several different causes but I strongly think they all point to the same thing. The obvious causes are your video driver (in 2 at least) ataport.sys, and your network driver. They all are probably caused by a very old driver.

ASACPI.sys (2005) is known to cause BSOD's very often.


I would update it

ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005

The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

I would also re-install the video driver

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.


Let us know if the problem continues
