The EC58 and EC54 are 15.6 inch laptops with high definition, LED-backlit screens. They run Pentium Dual Core SU4100 series CPUs, offering very low power consumption. Im planing to buy a lappy next month, Im thinking of the free upgrade offer to get to 7. But meanwhile, iv got a 7 pro license that i can use for the lap, but if i do a clean install of pro, how can i install the software that came pre installed with Vista.

can someone give me an idea about this.

HP/Compaq makes it easier than you think. There is a folder in the C drive containing almost all of your preinstalled goodies. Burn that folder to a DVD, and you have your apps. Reinstalling them is a trial and error process, because some of the appslication folders aren't named according to what they are, but are in labeled with an alpha-numeric "code."
I wish I could tell you the name of the folder, but I can't remember anymore. I got rid of my Compaq laptop (Vista Home Premium preinstalled) last year. I hope this helps you, and that they haven't changed the way they did things in '07 when I bought my last Compaq laptop.

You'll also find that their support site and options outweigh anything some other companies offer. I run HP printers here and locate drivers from their support section for various models far easier at times then with other brands.

You should find several others as well now offering 7 instead of Vista on them. Even if you place an order right this minute that wouldn't processed until the 22nd! The big day is upon us in only a few hours for many while others are on the 22nd already!
