I've built a new PC, can you please help me install Windows 7 on it?

A few months ago I built this new PC, but after installing Windows 10, I was back to my old Windows 7 PC. Today I woke up and found that the motherboard in my Win7 PC, with an OEM Home Premium install, had failed.

Using the drivers shared on this forum, is it possible to get this machine running Windows 7 off one of its M.2 NVME SSDs?? System Builder - Core i7-10700K 3.8 GHz 8-Core, GeForce GTX 970 4 GB GAMING, 750D ATX Full Tower - PCPartPicker

I have an unused Windows 7 Professional disc and activation key, and I've downloaded an unmodified Win7 Pro (64-bit) ISO from Microsoft's website.

I just can't stand Windows 10. I know I can't use Windows 7 forever, but I want to use it as long as I can, maybe acclimate myself to Linux while knowing I can return to my preferred OS any time. I'd like to set up triple-boot with Win10, Win7, and Linux Mint, but I can keep it to Win7 and Linux if that works best.

If someone can point me in the right direction, and let me know what sort of custom drivers I'll need and where I can find them, that would be a massive help. Please help.

One difficulty with 10th gen is lack of win7 igpu drivers. Because you have a separate graphics card the igpu is irrelevant.

You can use my little updater which will integrate usb3 and nvmne support
Update your Win 7 installation media

Thank you thank you thank you. I don't really know what I'm doing, so I hope it's okay if I keep asking questions. Do you know if there are custom drivers for my motherboard's onboard wifi? The router's in another room, so I'm stuck wireless. If I have to buy a USB WiFi adapter then I'll do it, anything to get back on Windows 7.

Depends what it is, there are drivers for some of the newer cards e.g i225v.

If after installing win7 and getting the device id, you are still unable to find win7 drivers, you could change the card or get a usb dongle.

Do you know if I'll need to go through anything rough to set up dual boot with Windows 7 and Windows 10? I'd like to install them on separate M.2 drives.
Is it possible that the BIOS will give me issues, as it's a newer motherboard?

edit: Shit, got a BSOD while on the simplix step. I feel clueless about what I'm doing. Found drivers for the wifi adapter though.

SIW2 The script failed for me, and now I have a "mount" folder containing an "UpdatePack7Wim" folder that I'm unable to delete. I've tried every method to reclaim ownership of the folder and files that I can find, but none are working. How do I get rid of this?

fire up dism++ and it should show in top pane. (It is attached to my sig at the bottom of this post)
Click on the mounted image to highlight it in blue
then click file>unmount image
(It might tell it needs to repair the mount, say yes)

You probably dont need to use simplix at this point. Run 7updater without simplix and will just add the drivers and special nvme and sha2 updates that are already included with it.

Always turn off antivirus when doing this kind of thing
