Then there is the difference between telemetry and telemetry.

and most importantly what they do with all the data they collect.
If you read all user agreements and their data policy word for word from beginning to end, some companies are more frightening than others.

Facebook, google, microsoft, apple, amazon etc etc.
Facebook sells to anyone who wants to buy and has the money
Google not quite as aggressive but not far off. (my opinion)
Microsoft .. yes with win 10 I'm not 100% sure, but they begin to walk the same path as google... so I avoid it.
Apple is pretty hard on keeping things within the company.
(so far)
Personally, I have nothing to hide on my computers
(I don't even encrypt my computers), but since I stand for our data is our own if they want their data to be theirs(
as they are so against open source), so I boycott most companies because the words "personal privacy" means just private, that my data is mine if theirs is theirs.
If everyone were to refuse win10 and google etc until they change their collection policy, then companies would only have two choices. Go bankrupt or give it up to get customers back.
The biggest problem with that strategy is that only a small fraction of the world's population cares, for it to be effective
I boycott companies as best I can. I have no google account, no apple account, no microsoft account and so on.. I have many of their data collection servers blocked in my hardware firewall.
It's a struggle, but it may be worth it in the end.. than that it maybe in the future, everything is online and in everything we own and say is in their possession
Who knows... his may be the start of the new global revolution. Hahaha

icnic: :roflmao:
Sorry for the off topic :grouphug:
