windows 7 error 16 bit application

hello all i woke up thismorning to get this on my screen at login, before this it wouldnt go past a black screen, wen i go into task manager i got the windows back by running explorer.exe but im afraid soemthin is wrong with it, i am currently running the microsoft saftey scanner and am installin kepersky to scan aswell, does anyone kno why this happened, i use this for my DAW and theres a lot of music on it...thanks

I found a fix

If you cannot use the system normally to perform the actions in the fix you may need to boot an emergency CD or the Install CD to edit the registry as specified. Before you edit the registry I recommend you make a backup.
