windows 7 failed to install updates

Hello,

Recently I've been trying to install some updates using both "Windows Update" and manually downloaded patches. After usual installing and PC reset I see "Failure Configuring Windows Updates. Reverting Changes" that lasts for about 20-30min. One of the googled guides told me to run sfc/scannow command. It did found corrupted files but imagine my SHOCK when it told me that it won't do anything about them :|. It generated log file which was supposed to tell me what to do next. Sadly it's gibberish for newbie like me

. Could someone tell me what am I supposed to do with it?

It has been at least 2 years since last OS reinstall. But the problem is that my dvd drive died some time ago and I didn't really had a need to replace it. And without access to another PC with said drive I can't use my Win 7 dvd to make USB installer.

Hi Epileptyk,

The key showing in the report is the default for Ultimate installs, and can NEVER be activated
(IF this is the key you have - then the install is non-genuine, and activation was achieved using an exploit)

If its another key you have a corrupt licence file, its not reading the actual key you used, from the report
