Windows 7 Freezes/Hangs On Startup

MSE should not have a problem. See if you can try again. If you cannot install, try in safe mode. You have experience with that now.

Sorry to bring you back (if you don't mind)
But now I'm getting some new software problems

I installed Starcraft 2, and it used to work fine with everything, but after what I did, now I just get a black screen on its startup, and my computer freezes (cursor, but everything is unresponsive)

I opened up Skype, and started a video call with someone, and after a couple seconds of video, the computer froze the same way, frozen screen, no mouse response, no response to anything but hard shutdown.

And perhaps the weirdest problem...Whenever I press the prt scr button, my computer just locks up. The screen freezes in its place, with no response from anything. What could be the root cause?

I did, ahah. Yesterday, actually. I updated it after downloading it, and ran a full system scan. It turned up a few results, and I believe I fixed them.

Windows 7 Freezes/Hangs On Startup - poss solution

I have been having the same problems and for a little while did not know what was causing this, but then I remembered a self installing update from Skype coming down onto the PC. I uninstalled skype and rebooted and the freezing problem was gone. I then reinstalled Skype from the Skype home page and everything is now working fine.

Hope this helps.
