Windows 7 Freezing up online

I disabled my video card and ran with the onboard graphics card. It seemed to run smoothly although I can't run the games because the card is not good enough, I browsed the internet with no trouble. Would this indicate a problem with the vidoe card?

Yes I can order a replacement. I got this one from NewEgg about 2 months ago but I wil probably not get an HIS since it has been over 3 days and they have not even bothered to respond to my emails.

Anyone have any suggestions as to a good card that will go with my MB? It is an Asus M4a785-M. I use this PC for gaming.

Thanks again for all the help

No problem. I would suggest an ATi card since they're cheaper and more powerful. You would also be able to do a crossfire configuration with the onboard HD4200 so it'd be even more powerful.

I swapped out my HIS Radeon for a Nvidia 7600 and my rig is still freezing up. I am beyond stumped at this point since it appears it is not the video card, like I thought, and there does not seem to be a trouble being reported by Windows 7.

As always any help would be greatly appreciated

I haven't read the thread but I wonder if anyone asked you to look in event viewer (type eventvwr in search).

You need to go tp the windows log?application tab. You are looking for critical errors (they have red in the left column) that have app hang, app crash, etc.

when you find them note the event ID ans source codes and tell us waht they are.

You might have faulty RAM. I don't know if this has been suggested previously, but run Memtest86 to test it. It's free, just hit "Free Download" on the left.

I ran Memtest86 for several hours and no errors were found.

I checked the event viewer and the only critical errors I saw where me having to reboot my system. I did see alot of incidents in the Summary Page events that were listed as "information" The Source was always the ACEEVENTLOGSOURCE and they were things like this :
