Windows 7 Fresh Install Keeps Locking Up!!

ok so i finally did a fresh install of windows after a while (it was much needed) and everything seemed ok except for the fact that explorer and sometimes the entire os keeps locking up! i put in an rma for my hdd but if that doesnt help ill try my ram next... what else could be cause this? here is a screen shot of task manager freezing, firefox freezing, and explorer frozen!? i erased any names btw... forgot i was on facebook lol http://i.imgur.com/AWC9l.png this is happening quit often now like every hour or bi hourly... :mad:

You may be correct suspecting the HDD first, have you run the manufacturers diagnostic tools for errors? There are other ideas in this tutorial linked below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

ok so i switched to chrome and have not have a single lock up so far *knocks on wood* but either way i still have the rma'ed drive coming so ill try out firefox again on that drive...

Try adjusting the ram voltage in the BIOS. Sometimes when you reinstall the operating system, the BIOS settings can get reset to factory default. (This happens when you have a OS based BIOS updater.)
