Might be worth investing in a new SATA DVD drive. They are fairly reasonable now.

Or boot installer from a 4gb or larger flash stick: easiest method is to extract ISO from DVD using ImgBurn, install ultra ISO trial version, on File tab Open ISO, on Bootable tab Write Disk Image, Format, Write. Boot under USB or HD's.

So rip the disk to a memory stick and removed dvd drive until after install?

Yep, if you have a 4gb USB flash drive or larger, that is empty

I have another IDE CD drive (not dvd).
