Every year I do a clean install due to my kids installing software, etc. Today I attempted the clean install and received an error "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed, click OK to restart the installation".

I utilized the original Installation disk, wiped the HD and windows attempts to load. I have not altered anything to prevent windows not to load...I am at a loss on what to do. I am running it on a 64 bit, AsRock AMD series board. Thoughts?

Work through the steps which cover almost all installation failures: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/324687-windows-7-installation-failure-overcome.html

Even more importantly I would read through the steps for a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 which compiles everything that works best in tens of thousands of installs we directly help with here. For example it is not necessary to do a reinstall more than once since modern back up imaging can replace the need to do them again.
