My Windows 7 Pro laptop goes to sleep by itself. I have the power settings set to NEVER sleep. But it does anyway.
I lock the computer (ctrl-alt-del) at the end of the day, and I turn off the external monitor power button. But I leave the laptop running.
The next morning, sometimes it's in sleep mode (usually, but not always).
If there were an automatic update taking place, I could understand an update/shutdown/restart cycle. But that only happens once a month.
Anyway, this is not a shutdown/restart: I push the power on button and the login screen says I'm already logged in, and I just need to enter my password. So it must simply have been in sleep mode.
I enter the password, and I see my apps still running. So clearly I've NOT been logged off.
Is there a fix? It's important because I sometimes need to remote access this PC from a client site, and I my arms aren't long enough to reach across the county to push the power on button!
