Hello,

I have a dell OptiPlex gx270 tower and have previously installed windows 7 on it. Unfortunately, the hard drive failed and now I am trying to install it on this spare one I have. The only thing that changed from last time was that I now have a new video card in it which is a "AOpen Aeolus FX5500-DV128 Nvidia GeForce FX5500 128MB DDR RAM DVI VGA TV Out AGP".

I tried installing windows 7 home premium on it and such but I'd get a blue screen of death every time I've tried. I have windows 7 enterprise installing and it works but whenever I start up the PC, it takes forever to load (like an hour or two). I'm re-installing windows right now and still am having the same issue. When I did get it to boot before I re-installed it, windows aero was disabled and it said it only had 127mb of vram when it should have 128mb. I looked it up in dxdiag. I mainly got the video card for an improved experience, but I've been having trouble with it ever since I've installed it. Should I try removing it and then insert it back in? I don't know..

Do a Clean Reinstall Windows 7 of your licensed version which you already own. Enterprise is licensed by organizations and companies and is not for consumer use.

After confirming the media from Step 1 if problems persist then Troubleshoot Windows 7 Installation Failures - Windows 7 Help Forums. If they're related to the video card, either reinstall it to try again or remove it and install with the onboard video or previous card. Then add the card later after installing it's driver.

Once the card is in Enable hardware auto-updating via Windows Update (Steps 3 and 6) to run all Important and Optional Windows Updates to see if Win7 wants another driver or has patches that are sometimes needed to make software and hardware work.

Could be installer. Confirm yours for the licensed version only in Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

You'll get and keep a perfect install to the exact extent you stick with those steps, tools and methods.

None of my product keys are working on it. Is there any way I can install windows 7 without a product key....?

Where did you get these keys and what version are they for? Are you sure you installed that exact version? If so then the only reason it won't activate if these are legit keys is that a wrong character was inputted. Happens all the time.

If this is for the Dell, why were you trying to install Enterprise or any version other than the one which came with the PC which you own for the life of the machine? Confirm you installed that version only. Then take a phone camera snap of the COA sticker key, enlarge it to examine the characters closely as you likely have an incorrect one.

I just solved the problem actually my RAM sticks were just bad and i hack back up ones so i installed them and it loads amazingly fast! Thanks for the help though!
