I tried to connect my Canon PowerShot SD750 to my machine earlier today in order to transfer some photographs, only to find out that my machine is no longer recognising the camera.

It is not showing up under "Devices with Removable Storage" under "Computer," nor does CameraWindow recognise that is plugged in ("Cannot detect camera. Check connection, then retry.").

Why is my computer, all of a sudden, not recognising my camera in any USB ports?

I am running Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit.

Probably just needs to have the driver re-installed. If you got a driver cd with the camera use it. If not check device manager

Please go to start>search>type device manager.
Are there any "unknown devices" with yellow triangles on them?
Is you driver there , listed, and working?

If your driver is missing, or there is a yellow triangle on it, you will need to update it.

Ah, crap. It looks like the driver is missing. Now, I'm off to scour in the Internet, since Canon doesn't like making it easy for people to update drivers and software. Thanks for your help!
