I played this game on Windows XP, and it works fine. After I upgraded Windows XP to Windows 7, I played the game... But it wouldn't work! Is there a possible way to fix this, or something?!?! My graphics card is "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" ... well, I think... Help me

My first question would be what video card do you have? If it's a major manufacturer computer, provide the Model Number and we can get a better idea of what type of computer you have. Additionally, are you running Windows 7 32 or 64-bit?

If you're not sure, try running HWInfo32 from http://www.hwinfo.com/ and it should tell you what you have.

Welcome to Seven Forums. first off it says Standard VGA Adapter because youhaven't installed the proper drier for your Video card.So as suggested the first thing you should do after joining is to fill in your system specs. Please include which version of Seven you are running 32 or 64bit. Also would help to know what game(s) your not able to ru. Once we know your system we can help you out much easier. Go to your User CP top of page scrool down to edit system specsand fill them in, onve you know. Amother helpful program is Speccy - System Information - Free Download Thanks. Fabe

If you're not sure, try running HWInfo32 from HWiNFO & HWiNFO32 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools and it should tell you what you have.
I runned HWInfo32... I don't really know anything about where it is, so I took a screenshot.

The Intel 845G Chipset on Windows 7 32-bit. The problem is Intel doesn't support that chipset on Vista and 7. The lowest one they support is the 945 chipset. What you can do is try the XP Drivers, available under the 845G Graphics Driver Download Link at Intel® 845 Chipset Family — Chipset information and downloads.

However, I won't guarantee that'll be able to play games but it might. I can guarantee Aero won't run though but try some older games to see if they work if you can get them to work with the XP Drivers. If not, you may need to look into buying a discrete (ATI or Nvidia) graphics card to play your games.

Good advice. If you are a big-time gamer you'll be glad you did, even if you get the onboard graphics working right. :D

Sadly, he will need more than a GPU upgrade.

512Mb of RAM is barely enough to run 7, much less game on it.

I hate to say it but, IMHO, he may actually be better off with XP with the current Hardware.

That, or some major upgrades.
May be easier to just build something newer if for gaming on 7 is the goal.

Well, getting another 512 MB of RAM at least would help along with even a cheapy video card like an Nvidia GeForce GT 220 or G210 or ATI Radeon HD 5450 would help out a lot.

Yeah, your best bet would be to use 7 or some other PC to download the missing drivers for your computer model for XP. If you're trying to save money, then XP is your best bet for now and when you can afford to upgrade just a bit, 7 should be fine for you.

But then again, it depends on what games you're talking about because some have very low requirements.
