Hi, so my motherboard broke, because of a power outage, I guess you would call it. Too many appliances were on and it fried. It doesn't work now. Anyway, I have an HP Pavilion p6597c computer. Anyway, I though it was time to upgrade my motherboard and CPU. I have switched from AMD to Intel. The problem is, my Windows 7 64bit is OEM. If I install my new components (also GPU and PSU), I won't be able to install Windows again because I do not have a disc. How do I obtain a disc? Does HP give them? Like the OEM versions?

I know once I install the system I either have to activate online or call by phone. BASICALLY, my question is how do I reinstall windows 7 on my new Mobo, without buying a retails version or anything. Thanks, ask questions if you need to because I know this might be confusing to read.

Since you replaced the HP motherboard with a non-HP motherboard, the original HP OEM license can no longer be used. Buy a new license.
