Windows 7 Pro 32 doesn't boot

Hi,
first time poster here. I need some help.
While installing W7 Pro 32 I stopped the process (not clever) after I removed and expanded 2 of 3 partitions. I wanted to have 2 partitions instead of 3.

So now I get these screen, and nothing else works, F11 doesn't react.

Will the Windows 7 DVD boot up? If YES.

That's the problem the dvd doesn't boot up. Nothing works.
I was thinking about booting up from my external harddrive. Install wintoflash and a ISO copy from my W7 in the external usb harddrive. I don't know if the computer would recognize the usb drive.

Reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While in BIOS set DVD drive first to boot, then HD.

Place DVD in drive, restart and wait for prompt to "Press any key..."

Select Custom Install, Drive Options, repartition as you wish, format before installing to first OS partition. Clean Install Windows 7

If DVD won't boot, write it to flash stick using Ultra ISO: On File tab select Open DVD, on Bootable tab select Write Disk Image, Format, Write. Boot under USB or HD.

If necessary set HD first to boot in BIOS setup and trigger DVD or USB to boot using one-time BIOS boot menu key given on first boot screen.

Next test the HD using WD Data Lifeguard bootable CD scan: HD Diagnostics.
After repair Write Zeros to HD using same CD.

If install fails again format full HD partition using free Partition Wizard then Check file System

I coud get in the BIOS only after removing both connections of the DVD and the Harddrive, and reseting the CMOS.
I was able to install Windows 7 from the DVD.
Next I will test the HD like you said.

Why can't I reinstall windows 7 while rebooting from the DVD?

One you were able to reset the CMOS after unplugging HD and DVD drive, after plugging them back in did the DVD boot normally?

If not, how were you able to get it to boot?

Will it boot now?

hey Greg

yes it booted from the dvd. Then after accessing BIOS, I connected the HD. At first it didn't recognize the HD while installing W7, I thought I had to install HD Drivers, and suddenly the HD was recognized and i could install W7.

The problem now is that i can't reinstall W7 from the cd.

when "press any key to boot from CD or DVD" shines on the screen i don't have the option to reinstall. It boots directly.

Maybe a keyboard issue?

Oh and i've done the HD test but directly inside of windows, not with a bootable cd. I used WD Data Lifeguard diagnostic for windows. It passed the test, but I couldn't WRITE ZEROS because that's the System Drive.

You have to boot to diskpart to wipe the "System" HDD.

Is there a response when you "Press any key..." or does it time out as though you pressed nothing? What does it boot into? Exact error message?

Try using a PS2 keyboard, or enabling USB legacy in BIOS.

If that fails and you are using a DVD you burned yourself, has it worked before? If not, confirm ISO integrity against official TechNet HASH or download and burn another using ImgBurn at 4x speed with verify.

Next I would try writing the DVD or ISO (if source) to USB flash stick using UltraISO trial version: On File tab Open DVD or ISO, on Bootable Tab Write Disk Image, Format, Write. Boot under USB or HD's.

And yes, test your HD using maker's diag/repair extended CD scan which can also wipe the HD for you afterward. I'd also run Disk Check from the installer Repair console Command Line although you'll need to format a partition to scan with /r switch.
