Hi

I have just installed my 1st PC with windows 7 on my network which has a 2008 datacentre server as a Domain controller. When I try to add the PC onto the domain I get the error message:

"The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "***":
An attempt to resolve the DNS name of the domain controller in the domain being joined has failed. Please verify this client is configured to reach the DNS server that can resolve the DNS names in the target domain.

My DNS server is a Billion router that is also the DHCP server the domain controller does not handle these to roles. What is happening why can I not add this to the domain. The only other PC's on the domain are using XP SP3 which with same settings have no issues.

Anyone else having these sort of issues? Please help!

Cheers

Ok just been looking up error logs, looks like its a fault with my DNS records as we recently changed ISPs and we had not updated to link to our new static IP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Durrr!
