Windows 7 Product Guide

Cheers Shahrukh36, what kind of computer motherboard have you got? Do you ever feel like "encouraging" your computer with a sledge-hammer?

Hey Shahrukh36, if you have got the lowest-end ASRock (and most certainly hope you have'nt!!!) you will have about a million-and-ten times wanted to "encourage" it!!!

Seriously though, these computers are far cheaper than such PC's as ASUS and ACER (Geeks everywhere rave about the ASUS PC's and with very good reason) and they used to have a very bad reputation for extremely poor-quality componenty.

According to what Geeks on the Web are saying, ASRock has radically improved in this respect, with component quality almost as good as ASUS, etc.

However, such computers as ASUS are massively more advanced than ASRock, and are far superior in every way; however, the ASRocks being far cheaper to buy than an ASUS are obviously going to get far more people around the world buying them.

But Sharhrukh36, if you have any friends who are being tempted by an ASRock, you should please warn them about some important things about these computers:

Firstly, the so-called "Operating Manual" that you get with them are more like a tiny brochure that is divided up into tiny sections of just about every language on the planet of "instructions"!!!

Also the Motherboard Driver CD that you also get is absolutely abominable; the only thing worth installing off it is the Sound Driver (without it you will not get any sound at all, but even with it the sound is ABYSMAL: even with VLC Player and just about every Sound-Codec Pack that can be found on the Web, can only get decent sound by using a complicated external pre-amp system with a morass of wiring that took literally months to get set up: yesterday the ASRock yet again crashed and have spent all day reinstalling Win 7 OS but cannot get the sound going properly: the PC is inherently unstable) but that CD is VERY dangerous!!!

No I don't have an ASRock Motherboard. I have an HP Desktop that has an HP Motherboard. And thanks for the advice on the ASRock based PCs.

Hey everyone, if you have not encountered them yet here are URL's for two Awesome download Websites:

First is Snapfiles: Freeware categories at SnapFiles - thousands of quality free apps, rated and reviewed

They always have got heaps of free stuff and have downloaded and tried massive amounts of their programs, and every single one has been clean, have never had a single problem with any of their programs. Even the bad ones are good!!!

However, if you download an "updatable" program from Snapfiles, such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware you will probably get an old version that need a lot of updating.

HELP!! i must be going sane!!! HELP!!!

Thank you also Windows 7 Forum Dudes, Fabulous Website.

Which brings us to MajorGeeks:

MajorGeeks.com - Download Freeware and Shareware Computer Utilities.

They always have the latest versions of everything but if you are not a Geek you have to be careful on their Website because they "carry" a lot of outdated programs and "buggy" programs.

i always go there to obtain the latest Malwarebytes and AVG stuff.

Hey Shahrukh36, very good to hear from you and thank you for your Post. Shahrukh36, i know about Filehippo but not "Download.con" but am going to check it out if i dont drop dead first!!!

Shahrukh36, have you seen "Snapfiles" - am now going to put their URL here:

Freeware categories at SnapFiles - thousands of quality free apps, rated and reviewed

All of their stuff is absolutely clean, but some of their programs such as MalwareBytes are pretty heftily out of date.

For up-to-date programs the best place i have found is MajorGeeks, but you have got to be very careful on MajorGeeks and know what you are doing there.
