Windows 7 prof 32bit to Windows 7 prof 64bit

Bought a Vista 32bit Business license (not a upgrade), never got around to building the system so the license was never activated. I have now built my new system and I bought a windows 7 Professional upgrade license and would like to do a clean install to windows 7 professional 64bit. The question is, do I have to buy another upgrade from Windows 7 professional 32bit to Windows 7 professional 64bit and will I be able to activate it if the Vista license was never activated?

As far as I know you cant "upgrade" fdrom 32 to 64. It has to be a clean install. Now your licenses are "upgrade licenses". I think you can use the lic you have but I would check with microsoft.

Vista license keys are completely different from Windows 7 license keys. It would probably not work.

You will be able to activate the Windows 7 license, but to do things legally, the Vista license should be retired.

You can clean install the Windows 7 upgrade even though you never used the Vista license.
