A few days ago, my I was watching a video on my Lenovo ThinkPad L420 on Firefox Quantum when my computer crashed. After that, it just won't stop crashing. It would crash when I would right-click, which was fixed after booting into safe mode, but it still crashes when doing things such as trying to open Firefox and when I type in something in the start menu search bar. I've been having to use Linux Mint MATE x64 instead because of this. Can you please help?

Hi Erik Karl, welcome to the Forum..

Crashing of Windows in normal mode & not in safe made is caused by either a program that is not working properly or a driver problem. Type msconfig in the search slot after click on the Start button. Then click on the Start Up tab & see what is ticked to load at start up. Generally you only need your anti virus to start at start up.

Then click on the Services tab, then tick the Hide all Microsoft Services. Then see what programs etc. are running & you can try disabling ones that you think might be the cause.

Also Right Click on the Task Bar & select Task Manager, then select the Processes tab & see what is actually running that might be causing the crash.

I would schedule a check disk (chkdsk c: /f). Reboot
Pay attention on the results, specially for bad clusters or bad blocks.
Once back to Windows, run a System File Check.
Type sfc /scannow
