Hi,

I was browsing the internet, and suddenly my computer rebooted itself. When it was loading up again, its gets to the dell inspiron logo, then cuts off to a page where all it says is "windows is loading files..." and a progress bar below it. the progress bar completes, and its start the loop again, to the inspirion logo, and back to the "windows is loading files"

When the ispiron logo is up, i can click f2 (setup) or click f12 (reboot option) but this is all i am able to do.

Can anyone help me with a solution, or has anyone seen this before?

Cheers

Did you update any software/ hardware before the reboot? You could have been hit with a virus if it happened randomly.

Did you create a system repair disk? Or if you have a system reserved partition keep tapping F8 on reboot until you get the repair my computer option.

Try booting into Safe Mode first.

Also you can enter System Recovery Mode (repair my computer) and do a System Restore to before the problem occurred.

Hi burdus,

I did not update any software/hardware, so i am suspecting it probably was a virus.

It will not let me get to recovery mode, when i do tap f8 on that scree to enter recovery mode, it just goes back to the windows is loading files scree.

I am going to try and get a hold the windows 7 OS disk, and running it through with that.

Cheers

An os disk or system repair disk will do. Did you save a backup image image of your drive. If so, you'll be able to use the disk to try a system restore or if that doesn't oesn't fix the problem you can restore from the image.
