After simplix has completed , you could run windows update and see if it offers a graphics driver and/or something for smbus controller or whatever.

Simplix has finished. Unfortunately, Device Manager is still the same, however I got some updates installed.

I have installed Win 7 on a gen9 laptop for a colleague (as well as my own gen8 laptop).

With the gen9 (an ASUS from memory), I used the biostar graphics driver (8th gen) as a guess and inserted the EA0 code into the inf file. This actually worked for gen9, and so perhaps may work for gen10 if the correct inf ID is inserted.

That the OP here with SWI2 help got as far as installing and booting win7 off a class 3 UEFI (ie. no CSM) using vgashim or UEFIseven is a very interesting thread. Pity the canonkong mod graphics driver failed. That mod driver has a whole heap of ID's in its' inf file for trying.

Great work. Yes, I tried to modify the DEV ID, it reports that the gpu stopped due to reported issues with code 43. I agree, it's very interesting, I really appreciate SIW2s help;

Did you try the biostar 8th gen graphics driver ? Just as a try, apart from canonkong's modded driver.

There's a link to the biostar web page somewhere in the threads here. When you open this biostar package webpage, you need to run the two msu's (each of which then need a reboot in order), then ensure the TPM condition is met, then edit the Win7 section of the INF file with your best guess ID, then run the registry file because this signs the driver ... and then click the setup.exe file and wait. In my experience, installation then took about 4-5 minutes of constant rattling around. Then hold your breathe and reboot.

And try a few INF codes in the biostar INF file that you may be able to glean from canonkong's modded INF file. Try the freeware GPU-Z utility to see if that will supply useful information.

SIW2,
I want to start an XP project, basically same as this. I'll be running a dualboot with 7 and XP. But yeah again, the GPU causes a problem for setup. So we need something like vgashim or maybe uefiseven for XP. Any workarounds you know? Or someone that could help?
