Hello All!

Would need your help with this...

Windows 7 "Recent Places" stopped recording the most recently visited files. I have presently no idea what triggered this issue.

Please review the attached screenshot displaying the properties of the "Recent Places" folder. Maybe that will give you a hint.

I need your help!

Thank you!

All I can suggest is checking your settings in the registry here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Start_TrackDocs

I don't know what the default setting should be but on my machine it is set with a value of 1

Also check:

Right-click on the Start button, select Properties

Tick the two privacy checkboxes in the Start menu tabs dialog.

Still in the dialog, select Customise. About halfway down the list is a checkbox for Recent items, tick the checkbox.
